 또 숨 돌릴 틈 없는 폭풍 서사가 휘몰아쳤다. 주세빈이 임신을 한 채 잠적까지 해 시청자들에게 충격을 안겼다.
 지난 4월 25일 방송된 TV CHOSUN 주말미니시리즈 ‘닥터신’(극본 피비(Phoebe, 임성한)/연출 이승훈) 13회에서는 하용중(안우연 분)의 아이를 임신한 채 사라진 금바라(주세빈 분)의 모습이 그려졌다.
 '닥터신'은 신의 영역에 도전하는 천재 의사와 하루아침에 뇌가 망가져 영혼을 잃어가는 한 여자의 메디컬 스릴러 드라마로, 전무후무한 설정인 ‘뇌 체인지’를 통해 사랑을 위해 금기에 손댄 사람들과 그로 인한 파국을 그리고 있다. 
 먼저 기분 좋게 취한 모모(김진주 뇌)는 금바라를 찾아와 “나 결혼하면 안 볼 거 아냐. 이별식은 해야지”라면서 노래방에 가자고 졸랐고, 노래방에서 갑자기 “가끔 김진주 생각해?”라고 물었다. 이내 모모(김진주 뇌)는 “애창곡”이라며 김진주가 즐겨 부르던 ‘님은 먼곳에’를 불렀고, 금바라는 11살 김진주가 보육원에서 불렀던 그 모습을 떠올렸다.
 이후 금바라는 예전에는 꽃을 싫어했지만 지금은 꽃을 좋다고 하는, 고양이를 키우고 싶어 했지만 지금은 고양이를 남에게 줘버리는 모모(김진주 뇌)의 변화에 의구심을 느꼈다. 금바라는 신주신에게 모모가 죽은 김진주로 빙의한 것 같다고 걱정을 내비쳤지만, 신주신은 “빙의가 아니라 김진주 맞아”라며 “겉만 모모야 몸뚱이만. 뇌 체인지 처음엔 모모 엄마 그리고 김진주”라고 털어놨다. 이어 신주신은 진지하게 “원하면 바꿔줄 수 있어. 하용중 하나 보고 버티고 살아왔다며”라며 모모로 뇌 체인지를 해 하용중과 결혼하라고 제안했다. 금바라는 김진주의 뇌가 자신의 몸에 들어오는 것은 싫다고 거부했지만, 신주신은 “두 번 다 성공했으니까 걱정말고”라며 금바라의 행복을 위해 ‘뇌 체인지 수술’을 해주겠다는 애틋함을 드러냈다.
 금바라는 어린 시절 입양 갈 뻔한 변호사 부부에게 김진주의 계략으로 파양된 일을 떠올린 뒤 하용중과 결혼하는 김진주를 상상하고는, 모모의 죽음에 통곡했다. 결국 금바라는 모모(김진주 뇌)를 찾아가 “김진주야?”라고 돌직구로 물은 뒤 하용중을 놔주라고 부탁했지만, 모모(김진주 뇌)는 “나도 용중 오빠가 좋거든”이라며 적반하장으로 응수했다. 더욱이 모모(김진주 뇌)는 ‘뇌 체인지 수술’에 대해 까발리면 신주신이 살인죄가 된다고 협박한 후 “다신 그 얼굴 안 보게 해줘”라고 절연까지 선언했다. 금바라의 읍소에도 불구, 모모(김진주 뇌)와 하용중은 결혼식을 치렀고 하용중은 금바라의 불참을 알고 있으면서도 결혼식장에서 금바라를 환영으로 보며 착잡해했다.
 그 사이 신주신은 저녁 식사를 차려놓고 간 금바라에게 전화를 걸었지만 착신이 정지됐다는 멘트에 의아해했고, 결국 “원장님께 걸맞는 좋은 분 만나 행복하시기를 멀리서 온 마음으로 기원드릴게요”라는 금바라의 이별 통보 메일을 받고 괴로워했다. 급기야 하용중까지 신주신에게 금바라에 대해 묻자, 신주신은 “떠났어. 사라졌어”라며 금바라의 이별 메일을 하용중에게 내보였다. 하용중은 금바라가 다시 나타날 거라는 모모(김진주 뇌)의 말을 전했지만, 신주신은 고개를 저은 후 “니가 전부였었는데 바라한텐”이라며 “그렇게 눈치 없지 않잖아. 하룻밤 같이 보내고”라고 일침을 가했다.
 신주신과 하용중, 제임스(전노민 분)까지 사라진 금바라의 행방을 추적하는 가운데 금바라가 아들을 임신했다는 것이 밝혀져 충격을 안겼다. 뒤이어 금바라가 사라지기 전 상황이 회상으로 펼쳐졌다. 산부인과에서 임신을 확인한 금바라는 하용중 집 앞 카페에 무작정 찾아갔고 같은 시각 금바라 생각에 카페를 찾은 하용중과 만났던 것. 두 사람은 냉면을 먹으며 서로의 결혼에 관해 얘기를 나눴고, 결국 하용중이 금바라와 더 있고 싶다는 속마음에 차를 가져온다며 자리를 비운 순간, 금바라가 휴대폰도 꺼버린 채 떠나버리면서 하용중을 당황하게 했다.
 13회 말미에는 금바라가 대형 트렁크에 짐을 싸 들고 어딘가로 떠나는 모습과 동시에 모모(김진주 뇌)와 하용중이 딸의 태명에 대해 다정하게 대화를 나누는 모습이 대비를 이뤘다. 이어 신주신이 하용중에게 금바라의 행적을 찾을 수 없다고 괴로움을 토로한 가운데 자취를 감췄던 금바라가 배가 불룩한 채 폴 김(지영산 분)과 우연히 마주치는 ‘잠적 임신 엔딩’이 담겼다.
 한편 K-콘텐츠 경쟁력 분석기관 굿데이터코퍼레이션의 펀덱스(FUNdex) 4월 2주 차 TV-드라마 부문에서 TOP7, 드라마 TV-OTT 검색반응 TOP5를 나타냈다.
