 쿠팡플레이 시리즈 '로맨스의 절댓값'이 공개와 동시에 어디서도 본 적 없는 발칙한 세계관과 통통 튀는 캐릭터들의 케미로 시청자들을 단숨에 '입덕'시켰다. 
 17일(금) 베일을 벗은 1-4화에서는 주인공 '의주'(김향기)가 비주얼 끝판왕 선생님들과 얽히는 과정이 그려지며 유쾌한 하이틴 서사의 탄생을 알렸다. 특히 '수학처돌이' 담임 '우수'(차학연)와의 악연 같은 첫 만남은 소설 작가 '의주'가 꽃미남 쌤 4인방을 모델로 창작욕을 불태우는 망상과 극명하게 대비되며 시리즈 초반부터 신선한 재미를 선사했다. 
 '의주'는 선생님들을 모델로 BL 소설 '우린 친구였어'를 집필하는 발칙한 이중생활에 돌입하며 시청자들의 도파민을 본격적으로 자극했다. 현실에서 자신에게 벌점을 남발하는 '우수'를 소설 속 치명적인 대사와 설정으로 복수하는 '의주'의 엉뚱한 창작 방식은 시청자들의 몰입을 이끌어냈다. 
 특히 4화의 안경 파손 사건은 하이틴 감성을 극대화하며 강력한 웃음을 자아냈다. 비둘기 배설물 사건으로 '우수'가 '의주'에게 안경값 '천만 원'을 운운하며 보충 수업을 강요하자, 이를 소설 속 "내 입술이 찢어지면서 천만 원의 가치가 깨졌어"라는 치명적 대사로 변주한 전개는 이른바 '킹받는' 재미의 정점을 찍었다. 특유의 오글거리는 대사를 세련된 위트로 승화시키는 극강의 중독성을 선사하며 강력한 '입덕' 신호탄을 쏘아 올렸다. 
 하이틴 장르의 문법을 새롭게 비튼 '로맨스의 절댓값'은 현실과 망상을 넘나드는 '단짠 밸런스'로 Z세대 감성을 정확히 관통했다는 평을 받고 있다. 
 꽃미남 선생님들을 주인공으로 BL 소설을 쓰던 여고생이 현실에서 그들과 예상치 못한 순간들을 마주하며, 파란만장한 학교생활의 주인공이 되는 하이틴 시리즈 쿠팡플레이 시리즈 '로맨스의 절댓값'은 매주 금요일 저녁 8시 쿠팡플레이에서 공개된다. 쿠팡 와우회원은 물론 일반회원 누구나 무료로 시청할 수 있다.
