 게임프리크 '포켓몬 레전즈 Z-A'에는 출현 장소가 한정돼 있고, 포획률이 낮은 포켓몬들이 존재한다. 게임 초반 확인된 야생 희귀 포켓몬은 '이브이', '미뇽(신룡)', '리오르' 3종이다. 각각 특정 장소에서만 팝업된다.
 외관상 평범해 보이지만 상당히 낮은 포획률을 갖고 있어 여러번의 트라이가 필요하다. 그렇기 때문에 조금이라도 확률을 올리기 위해 포획률을 높이는 아이템 등을 미리 준비해 놓는 게 좋다.

 희귀 포켓몬을 잡기 위해서는 포획률을 높여주는 아이템 '파랑카나리 인형'이 반필수적으로 필요하다. 포켓몬 레전즈 Z-A에서는 희귀 포켓몬의 포획률이 극악인 것은 물론, 몬스터볼에서 여러번 튀어나왔을 때 일정 시간 동안 포획 불능 상태가 되거나 도망치는 탓이다. 
 파랑카나리 인형은 미르시티 곳곳에 있는 보라색 아이템 '컬러풀한나사'를 모아 교환할 수 있다. 교환에 3개가 필요하기 때문에 필드를 돌아다니면 금방 모을 수 있다.

 이브이는 블르 7번지 포켓몬 센터 건물 옥상에서 출현한다. 전투에서 빈사 상태로 해도 포획율이 매우 낮게 설정돼 있다. 포획에 앞서 미리 리포트를 저장하고, 리로드를 반복하는 걸 추천한다. 
 블르 7번지 포켓몬 센터 건물 옥상은 포켓몬센터 오른쪽 뒷편에 위치한 구조물을 통해 올라갈 수 있다. 방법은 아래 움짤로 설명을 대체한다.

 미뇽과 신뇽은 베르 6번지에 있는 '보통 레스토랑' 옥상에서 등장한다. 둘 중 한 마리가 랜덤으로  나온다. 플레이어를 발견하자마자 도망가 버리기 때문에 배후에서 몬스터볼을 던져 잡거나, 위력이 높은 기술로 한 번에 빈사 상태로 만들어 잡아야 한다.
 보통 레스토랑의 옥상은 맡은편 건물에서 넘어가야 한다. 옥상으로 넘어가기 위해서는 달리기 가속도와 구르기가 필요하다. 방법은 아래 움짤로 설명을 대체한다.

 리오르는 루주 4번지 쇼핑몰 옥상에서 종종 출현한다. 이브이와 미뇽에 비하면 포획률이 꽤 높은 편에 속한다. 플레이어와 마주쳐도 도망치지 않고, 오히려 덤비는 습성이 있어 편하기도 하다. 쇼핑몰 옥상 사다리는 아래 월드맵 플레이어 위치에 있다.
